I had a really charged up night last night, and I feel weird and still wired and lonely all at the same time..

Any thoughts about how to relax and feel better in touch with reality once more?

Just try to do whatever it takes to relax. Watch something on television, listen to some music or whatever works for you.

Once you are in a better state of mind, then you can have a go at thinking about some of the underlying issues.

But the first thing is to try to just relax.
Thanks for this!

I do some grounding; "feel" the chair I'm sitting in and focus on the material it's made of, how my body feels on it, and look slowly around the room and "see" what I'm looking at. Then I might do some light chores and practice mindfulness (pay attention when you're washing dishes to each item and how much water you're using and how it looks and feels, what you used that item for etc., really focus on the literal/sensual aspects, or put away items where they belong, that sort of chore). I work to do things in a "slower" rhythm, take my time and do them thoroughly, maybe take a shower or do laundry or change my bed, physical things that help make me feel better.
