I have this problem: dichotomous thinking---seeing situations as black and? white, good and bad, big and small...no gray area. And resulting from it all is ANXIETY. Anyone else out there? Oh, come on, I 'm sure you're out there...lots of us black and white, self induced anxiety types!!! What do you do to help yourself out of it?

Hi U2nance!

There's a sticky post at the top of the psychotherapy forum "10 cognitive distortions and what to do about them" (0r something like that) that will help you with this cognitive distortion (black and white thinking.)

It's pretty common, but just as dysfunctional for everyone.
