Hiya!

I haven't been feeling well today, emotionally, that is. I googled advice on releasing emotional pain, and am doing an exercise as we speak where I need your help. I'd be forever grateful if you can help me out

I first had to feel the emotion fully, then locate it in my body, then name it. What I'm dealing with is fear. I then had to write an account of what happened when this emotion occured - from my own perspective, from someone else's who was there, and then, from the POV of a news reporter covering the event. Here's what I got:

Me: I'm just SOOO scared!!!!! I don't want to look at dad!!!!!

My dad: I just want to kill that child..

Reporter: Father wanted to kill his child - child covered her face with her hands

Phew, this is awful, I know.. Anyway, it says now to share this with someone sympathetic who will understand and has my best interests at heart. I'm hoping someone here will agree to be that person..

I think I just need a genuine human response to this.. And maybe just an 'I hear you!'

Thank you so much, Tea Biscuit, you just made my day! The next and final step was to celebrate releasing the emotion, so I did just that by doing a little happy dance just now, haha! And I actually feel lighter now and am smiling spontaneously! Awesome

Hey!

I just did this exercise again.. Today, I'm dealing with sadness. Here's the different PsOV..

Me: Mum, I hate you for not protecting me from dad!!!!!

My mum: I couldn't protect you from your dad..

Reporter: Mother couldn't protect her daughter from the child's father - because the mother didn't want to leave the father, her husband.

Phew.. Hope someone can hear this!
