Help with hoarding

Had a really frustrating experience today where I was trying to clean the coils on our fridge. First I had to move all the stuff I have on top of it - cake pans, mixing bowls, cookbooks. Why do I have this stuff when I can't even eat baked goods anymore? Then I finally get the fridge out but give up on the idea of finding the right sized wrench and try to use pliers. It worked, but I pinched myself and lost a bolt. I get the thing apart and then can't find the brush I want. It's just so frustrating, there is so much crap in the basement that it doesn't take much for me to give up looking and buy a duplicate. I told my husband afterwards that we need to get rid of some stuff and he accused me of throwing out some things he couldn't find last week!

I feel like my stuff could take the rest of my days to sort through, too, unaluna! I think the fact I’m moving in the near future is really helping with my motivation, though. No way could I take everything with me, so it’s either getting packed, sold on eBay or donated. I do have a problem with collecting nicknacks and stuff so will still need to watch myself once I have moved lol.

I personally think they are two different things. Interestingly, this document that shows photos of different clutter levels seems to use them interchangeably.

Maybe clutter is the stuff and hoarding is a behavior?


Jury is still out on the citrus smell. Boiling an old lime didn't produce a lot of scent so I will pick up a candle on my next shopping trip.

I have a repair guy coming today and will be spending the morning trying to make it look like we are not slobs. Wish me luck! Do other people move appliances to clean under them? I don't and I am worried about what kind of build up we're going to find.

I need to find better homes for some of my things. For the past month or two, it feels like I am constantly moving stuff in order to do something. I set up a workspace on my dining room table, so when we want to eat, I have to move that stuff somewhere, usually to my couch. If I want to sit after dinner, I have to move that stuff off the couch. I wanted to use a step stool yesterday but had to move something off the top. It's just annoying. I need to get rid of things and reorganize what I have.

Okay, getting back to (house)work since my eye operation 2 months ago

Got all my canned food deliveries from amazon shelved and boxes broken down. I get hot and sweaty doing it, but it feels like i am able to do more before i have to quit, and that i am not so miserable when i stop. I will only need to get in some fresh greens for the next month, which i hope to do by walking and taking the bus.

I have to stop this messy house stuff. I keep reminding myself that i dont have to live in shame, which is where my parents put me.

I do this too!! With bigger and smaller clothes. I put on weight with one of my meds (pregabalin) then lost weight with another (vortioxetine) and now Ive jsut added Bupropion to the mix and my appetite has decreased again.
Plus when I have episodes my weight tends to change too. So I keep all of my clothes even when I shouldnt...

Im actually decreasing some of the piles enough that i am getting to the floor! And finding lost implements.

Its funny, i see peoples houses on tv/youtube and im like, they have ROOMS. With WALLS. My pkace feels like a library, but then, that was my happy place when i was a kid.

I find it easier to throw out clothes that are too big, like I think it will be motivation to not gain weight. This conversation made me go through a bureau and fill up a bag with clothes I will never wear. Most of them still have tags and were purchased over ten years ago. How long ago was 2006??
