Attached is an essay by Dorothea Brande called "Wake Up and Live"* which I found in the Reader's Digest Anthology called GETTING THE MOST OUT OF LIFE, published in 1946.

For those interested, the original Brande book and also the RD anthology can be bought at abebooks.com .

The essay, which I've uploaded here, is contained in 3 posts as 5 uploaded pages are the maximum.

*condensed from the book of the same title, published 1936

Does anyone want to discuss the essay?

Do you think we really have a "Will to Fail?" Perhaps the author is just being dramatic. A "Will to Be Complacent" seems more appropriate.

Have you tried any of the exercises? Does this post meet the requirements of exercise 3?
