Hi all (whatever your diagnosis are).

I see that there are many forms of some sort of coping-threads in the forum. I want to make a different one

My thread are for those who have one or more things they need to fight for. It can be exactly what you need (may be loosing weight, put the dishes into the dish washer, go to the gym, remember to eat, go to bed at a decent time or whatever it is that is important to you - you chose your topic).

I feel I need one or more "coping buddies", instead of all the "down-trodden" people we meet here and there in the forums. It is not that I cannot sympathize with them. It is only that I become more depressed about reading about all the misery. I need somebody to "talk to" who have something they really want to be able to do and to share about ups and downs at that road.

If you have some almost similar feelings (about the need to share progress or no progress, you are warmly welcomed here!

About my goals: I have worked my total goal list into a daily planner. I don't want to share the planner each day (healthy eating, gym, work time, go to bed early and more), but I want to share if I feel that I am on the right way or if I have a setback.

Come let us be coping buddies to cheer each other up or to give support when we get stuck from time to time.

After my intruduction I have to admit, as my first post, that my progress is slow, but I am at antibiotics for the time being. What I have been able to do today, however, is to make a way to measure my progress, so that I can see what I have done and to prevent myself from becoming miserable when I feel that I have done nothing, when I in reallity have done things that I didn't notice as progress . May be that's good and enough for today?

Good thread. Mine is to remember that I have positive things going on in my life. Did I remember I have positive things going on in my life today? No, not particularly much. But at least I'm making the effort to post here and try to be better about it as the day goes on and as my life goes on. Thanks for posting this thread. I will try to update about this.

mine are to eat well, attempt to find a purpose, try and dwell less on the people that abandon me (a lot), and find things I'm actually interested in and want to do

Mine - (in no particular order)
To remember the positive things in my life, even if feeling not at my best
To never accept any ideas or labels which are unhelpful, over simplified, untrue (most not positive labels or descriptions are that way imo, except for some psych diagnoses)
To work on my spirituality
To remember to BREATHE in the difficult times
To learn to meditate
To work on my reading list
To think about the lovely people in my life (I am very fortunate )
To lose some weight
To exercise more
To talk more (maybe)
To have more FUN
To allow my inner cub to PLAY
To play the piano :-)
To learn something new each day :-)
To be my Authentic Self as I can, in each moment

I am still on antibiotics, so to keep up with my daily planner is difficult. Am too tired. But today I will need to go out to shop groceries. I will empty my dishwasher and take a shower. (Small "things", but since I am sick I want to see these small "things" as good eneough).

I currently am trying to get more organized so I bought a planner and I am trying to use it.

Anyway, as for remembering I have positive things going in my life, I think I am on a better track than before. I remembered more that I have some really positive things going on in my life today and yesterday. So that's positive.

I feel free from the flu and from depression, now! Have one and a half day left to swallow antibiotics.

I am not ready to jump into my daily planner yet (after the flu). I will have to go back to my daily planner later. Will do that step by step. The planner is about trying to make a system out of what I know is necessary for a good life with depression related "illness" (making a balance between regular meals, physical activity, relaxation, good sleep routines and social activities, some work).

I have added 10 minutes of meditation in the mornings.

Sometimes I see motivation as a car. There is the idle stage and then there is the effect of stepping on the gas. Finding the right targets in life could be the difference between revving in neutral and putting oneself into gear if that makes sense. To have a desired destination that has meaning and purpose in our life is to be driven with forward momentum and sometimes it's just a case of asking oneself where would I like to be in life right now, or what do I feel I should be doing right now with my life and removing barriers to progress and finding a tangible and workable route to get there. Hope this has been of some help/inspiration.

I feel like if I am in some kind of wacuum. The depression and flu has past, but it seems like I don't have any motivation to do something.

But I have to do something! The only tool that may help on this is perhaps the "work in parts" methods.
Hopefully! Will try to start with that now!

Since I am not so tired as yesterday (but tired enough), I will use this day to make parts of my home better suited, so I will become able to use my weekly planner later this week or next week (it takes the time it takes).

My coping-buddies @WastingAsparagus, @emily1890, @Fuzzybear, @John2023 how are you doing along the way of your chosen coping strategies?

I am sorry, @Fuzzybear! May be you should try to not have such long list of what you want do. What about only one topic to work on?

I am still very tired after the use of antibiotics for a week. I will take it easy today, only do a few "things" to keep my head over the water.
