I decided to try some of the Celestial Seasoning's tea. Tea is a comfort to me so I thought to try some herbal ones. Does anyone like these teas and do you think they have medicinal properties? I would love to read what everyone likes.

Yes, I like those teas too and do consider them medicinal. My AD is Yogi Tea St. John's Wort. I use Kava also, and various teas for sleep, immunity, headaches, etc. I prefer other brands than Celestial Seasonings, mostly because Celestial Seasonings discontinued their Mood Mender tea with SJW that was the first SJW tea I had discovered, and the first thing that improved the depression that I had lived with for my whole life up until discovering it. I'm still mad at them for discontinuing that one.

Wow, wonder what happened because my health food store still carries Mood Mender with St John's Wart...I got the tea and the capsils. They are still sealed and look fresh. Well, no matter, I will call the tea company and see if I can return it because if they discontinued, these products must be old and impotent. I will have them call Amazon.com because they are selling it too. Old herbs can be bad. But thanks so much for the warning!

It should have a date on it, so you can check. It is always possible that maybe they started making it again. I stocked up when I found out they were discontinuing the Mood Mender tea, but ran out a long time ago and found other brands. The grocery stores used to have it, but lately I have to keep reminding health food stores to reorder SJW teas, because even they aren't keeping it stocked.

I like tea and I use the Sleepytime teas. I don't drink alcohol, so I consider the teas to be similar to the glass of wine other people have to relax

I really like the Sleepytime Extra tea from Celestial Seasonings...the "extra" is a little more expensive but it is worth it because it has Valerian root.
I also use the kavakava tea bags. I think they can help relax or get a little to sleep |

I do like the Sleepytime tea, but I also like the Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings. There is something about a cup of tea that is relaxing in itself

Several years ago when I was in an outpatient group therapy the pdoc there gave me some of the Sleepytime Tea. That was very sweet of her. It didn't actually help me sleep but it was nice to drink and unwind before I went to bed.

Yoda, that is how I see it. A hot cup of tea at the end of the day makes me feel relaxed and pampered.

Davidson's teas are the best. They are all organic and they have teas with caffeine and those without. I got a sampler once for Christmas and I will only buy my tea from them now.

Chamomile is a favourite, another one I love is Echinacea, it tastes delicious and has some good benefits including good skin, antiviral, I havn't heard anything to suggest it has relaxing properties but it certainly relaxes me, probably because I love it so much. I also love ginger tea in the morning, it helps to wake me up.

I enjoy herbal teas too. Does alyone know the difference between "tea" and "chia" drinks?
There are healthy reasons to drink tea, antioxidents for one. Some stimulate, like the mint family, others relax. I wish the stores that sample coffee would also sample teas!

Great tasting caffeine free tea! One thing anyone on medications - at lease for depression - Kava Kava and St John's Wort should not be used. At least I've read that in many different books. Or ask the pharmassist - don't you love my spelling.

There's a company called Traditional Medicinals that makes herbal teas - I absolutely love their "Easy now" tea, it totally destressess me. I drink it before bed.
I also love STASH tea company teas, I love their organic white tea with mint. I keep a big box of it in a cupboard in the office and always have a cup when that 3 pm slump hits - especially on those days when I'm working until 6, it really perks me up and destresses me at the same time. One of my friends gave me a huge sampler of different teas to try at christmas, but I haven't started trying any of them yet. I need to buy a tea defuser first. --splitimage |

My parents love loose tea and order their tea from Upton Tea. They love it, and you can get sample packs and all sorts of things. Their customer service is also really great (My mom placed two orders in one day shipping to the same place and Upton tea called to ask if my mom wanted them packaged together or separately either that day or the next).
I really like jasmine teas or spiced (ginger, etc) teas. I also really like celestial seasonings Bengal Spice and Tension Tamer. I always wondered if some of the reasons drinking tea before bed helps is because we set up a routine to help us relax, so the effect is partially from the tea and partially from the routine. |

Wow, that really sounds great. I love black licorice, and just the name wild orange, CRAZY GOOD. I'll have to get that one. Well, is it caffiene free? Hubby can't have caffeine since his gastric bypass surgery. I limit my intake as well.

You know I think instead of the phrase nighttime routine, using the phrase bedtime ritual would make any of the teas suggested taste...devinely relaxing.

I have a real anxiety problem and double sleepy time with tension tamer, plus Klonopin and melatonin with a Vitamin C tablet. Someone said taking Vitamin C with melatonin increases it's affects. When I didn't do this I would wake up with the same stress I had developed by the night before, but now with the teas and melatonin I feel like I had a very good night's rest and am not cranky at all. I like walking the dog sometimes in the morning but it is still bloody cold. I wake up early and my new goal is to walk the dog and head to the Y to swim 20-40 laps until I can just swim for an hour straight. Swimming and hot tubs definitely relax you. If ever you have cabin fever and don't know what to do but want to do something, head to an indoor pool with a hot tub and it will change your perception completely. For people with disability YMCA memberships are $10-15, what a great deal right?

I especially like Twinings tea. The Jasmine Green tea is delicious and Earl Grey an old stand-by. But they both have caffeine (my drug of choice
