Start your day with eatting some sort of protein.

I love toast, but when I've had several low energy days in a row I have to add a bit of protein right up front. Some days I have just peanut butter. Other days I have peanut butter and a banana.

I feel better when I "move" right after breakfast also. Laundry makes me go up and down the steps (3 floors) so I get really awake. So doing a chore that involves anything other than watching TV and having a second cup of coffee. That is often hard because it's hard to push myself some days.

Any other of you have suggestions?
Thanks for this!

How about realizing you are special just the way you are, believing you were put on this Earth for a unique purpose

Thanks, but that is a tough one for me some days. Lip service is one thing, but to truly believe part of that is another.

Could my purpose be just housework-see how my thought processes work some days?

Okay, let me try better thoughts and kick up my self-esteem away from that previous thought. Positive attitude, positive attitude,

My purpose is to love and be loved by my family. That is a good thought.

Hugs to myself.

Thanks June...

You are a freaking wife, mother & grandmother...your purpose is beyond just giving & recieving love. I'm sure you are the engine that keeps the well oiled machine that is your family running.
I know I would be lost without my wife. She keeps my meds organized, she makes my doctors appoint, she tells me when I'm about to walkout the door for an interview with my shirt on inside out, she knocks me down when my head gets to big & picks me up when I can't do it myself...but cares enough to make sure no one ever sees her do it, so I don't feel like less of a man.
I'm sure your the person you child(ren) come to when they don't know what to do with their kids.
Don't ever under estimate your purpose & value!!!
Thanks for this!

How about the idea of going out for a walk and greeting some of the first people you meet with "good morning" (and a smile). I find that I feel alive after getting a reaction from someone else - especially if they smile back and look like they mean it. So many people around here walk around at speed with their head down, looking like the world is against them. By you noticing them, and smiling, you often get a nice, positive reaction.

So, that's two good things at once - exercise and a nice feeling of being alive. If it's a sunny day, that's all the better.

Two good things plus a sunny day......IN ENGLAND? Wow! That's a bloody miracle, that is.

(Just joking.)

LOL VIP

How's about taking time out first thing to stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself all the positive things about you that other folks do. Do it enough times and you should find it gets easier each time, plus one day you'll shock yourself by actually believing it.

You're not wrong there, Vickie. I think England is probably the worst place on the planet to be if you suffer with SAD. Having said that, it is sunny today... now, where did I put that suncream...

oh, yes about the "no sun in England" bit

but the flip side is the shops have such nice rain coats! At least I loved the one I bought while living there in the late 60's. What do you call them?
