Hi everyone, I'm kris. I stopped cutting myself for 4 months but I recently started doing it again. I sometimes hit myself, too. I am not proud of it, and no one knows I SI. I don't even know why i started Self Injuring again. I was sexually abused by my older brother when I was 15(I'm 18 now, he's 21 now). I guess I'm not quite over what he did...My parents sometimes say hurtful things to me(like I ruined their lives and stuff...), I guess I just needed a way to release all these bad feelings I bottle up inside me all the time, and to punish myself. Cutting feels so good to me...If anyone can help me, please do. Tips on how to get rid of urges to self-injure would be great.

Thanks

Hi Midnight, I am so sorry that that happened to you. Does anyone know about what happened? Therapy is essential to stop SI and working through what happened to you in therapy too. I'm glad that you found us here!

No, I've not told any one about what happened. I'm afraid my family wouldn't believe me.
I've thought about talking to my parents about getting me therapy before but, I don't think I'd be able to get therapy, even if I wanted to - My family has money problems. How much does therapy usually cost though?

Would it hurt to talk to your parents about therapy? Some therapists have a sliding scale plus there is government supported therapy.
