I appreciated self harm but it was obviously a dead end.
I loved smoking but that's obviously a dead end. Substance use served a purpose but a dead end too. But as I sustain from smoking and substances my need for self harm increases. But when I was running and working out the need for all these things were seemingly absent. The rush from running 5 miles is CRAZY. The rush from kicking the snot out of a punching bag was even better. Time I get back to the constructive habits of getting "high" than running down dead end roads. Tomorrow it begins... it has been proven that exercise increases those feel good chemicals in the brain so it makes sense. good luck in your endeavors.
