Hello,

I'm currently creating a list of things that may help me distract myself when I'm feeling urges to harm myself. My top 3 are: Journalling, talking to others, and taking a nap.

List your ways of distracting yourself from SI!

And also...what DOESN'T work for you? For me...walking around and listening to music makes the urges worse because these activities boost my frustration & energy.

Thanks!

Sorry Mel - I don't have anything to add; but I'm thinking of you.
Try meditate - think about what a special person you are, and that you cannot harm yourself purely because of what you are worth. I do puzzles (Sudoku) when my head feels too full and thoughts are racing.

I actually got a tattoo where I use to cut that says flawless Imperfections. Every time I'm tempted to cut again I look at the tattoo and think, "I don't want to mess this beautiful tattoo up" You might be thinking, "How does this stop me from cutting else where?" Well I'm attached to were I use to cut (my inner foot) so I don't want to cut anywhere else. It's weird but it has worked for me. Good luck to you dear
