I am not sleeping very well at night, waking up more than 8 times, in cold sweats from dreams of cutting. I think about cutting every moment. I am trying so hard not to do it, but something in my mind and body is pestering me to do it. I have not cut for 1 week... but I feel that lack of sleep, these dreams, and thoughts are going to make me give in really soon. I am going to go sit on my hands....

Ally Angel...........keep sitting on those hands. Or run cold water over them. Do whatever it takes right now.
Call someone who will support you.
I know the urge is completely overwhelming.
Hang in there....keep yourself busy!

You're not losing it. You're struggling with an urge that many of us have. I know I do. Yes, the best advice I can give to you is keep busy.

Keep your hands busy and away from sharp objects at all times. Write, clean, type, play cards, do homework or whatever (if you are in school), keep your mind busy with other tasks, take a shower/bath, etc. All of these work if you do them enough. If you have any razors, glass, or other sharp objects do the hardest thing a cutter can possibly do--THROW THEM AWAY!

Do you journal? I would suggest starting a journal where you talk about your dreams, urges, thoughts, feelings, desires, etc. Do it on a daily basis or whenever the urge comes on, no matter how often it is. And for the moments when you can fight off the urges, congratulate yourself for making it through that moment without cutting. Call your t or someone who is supportive of you, who will be there for you and support you in any way possible. You need that right now.

All of these suggestions do work, trust me because I use them ALL!

Hang in there and stay safe!
