Today I got upset and my mum came in my room and she asked me what was wrong. I told her that someone said something to me which I didn't like. My mum saw a magazine article and she showed me it. the magazine article was about a girl who self harmed. I saw a girl's body with scars in the magazine and my mum said "do you want to look like her?". After, I spoke about getting help. So now I have to phone the doctors which I be happy to do and then my mum will go with me. I think my mum has realised about self harm by reading a magazine article. I hope everything goes well.
Thanks for this!

Update: I booked an appointment to see the doctor tommorrow about my self harm. My mum is also coming with me. My mum was happy with me because she was pleased I booked an appointment and she hugged me as well. I thought my mum would be horrible to me about all this self harm issue. She told me: have you cut yourself today? and I replied no. Just wanted to make an update to tell you people about what is happening.

Today at the doctors went well. The doctor was understanding and nice. I showed the doctor my cuts and bruises. He asked me why I hurt myself? He also asked me if I sleeping well or if I eating well. He was a good doctor. I'm going to get counselling hopefully and he gave me citalopram to lift my mood up. I have to come back in two weeks to get more. I'm also getting along with my mum
Thanks for this!

You are trying to get better for yourself. What YOU think is important. Part of your work is to recognize you are a valuable person. Please do not allow others to define you.

What happening to make you say these things ((happycheeks))? The doctors went well and you seemed to be feeling hopeful. Lets pretend if no ones cares about you(even though that can't be true)...you still deserve to live. That's the way I feel - I live for my own contentment, not on the condition that others like me. You'll start to feel this way once your self esteem gets better.

I'm very happy for you! I'm not dealing with your type of problems, but I myself am making my first appointment tomorrow with a T. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

(((((((happycheeks)))))) What happened after you went to see the doctor?? I was so happy reading the first couple of pages of this thread because it's all such good news. I'm not sure what happened to make you feel so bad again, but it really is GREAT that you are getting help. I know there is no "magic cure" and you will continue to have some bad feelings from time to time as you work through this, but please don't lose hope!! You are doing absolutely the right thing by getting help. And it WILL help you. Just, not overnight. But you WILL get there ((((((((((happycheeks)))))))))) Many hugs to you
