Im a frequent self injurer and have been for the past 2 years. im basically at breaking point. I have to stop or Im getting hospitalized or worse... The thing is I dont really know any other ways to deal with my emotions. Ive been through a lot for someone my age but I keep all those secrets bottled up all the time. Ive struggled with everything from anorexia, to abuse, to worse things that Id rather not mention. So if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated

Hi, Heroes911! My T has suggested things like putting ice on your body where you feel the urge to injur yourself. She said sometimes the cold sensation is enough. She said it also helps some people to place a loose rubber band around the wrist and lightly snap it... I haven't tried it yet, but I thought I'd pass it along & maybe it can help someone else.

First things first, I understand you feel the need to keep the secrets to yourself. Maybe writing them down would help, on paper, online, anywhere really. You don't have to show anyone, but just to have it somewhere other than in your head. If you have someone you trust and feel comfortable talking to, even for only some of it, you can. It helps to share the secrets.

If you want to talk to me about it, as well, you can. I promise to keep your secrets and you can PM me at any time for any reason. I'm happy to help <3
