I am having really bad urges to cut today. I am so stressed out. Stress makes it so much worse. But then I have the original stress, plus the more stress because of the urges. It is like a downward spiral. And I don't see an end to the stress.
I feel like I'm falling apart and I don't have a net. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() just take it one step at a time and remember to breathe. take a little time for yourself, even if it means hiding away in an empty bathtub behind the shower curtain so no one can find you. just sit in there for about five minutes and give yourself a chance to close your eyes and just breathe. i imagine that you have been through times like this before and have been successful. what strenghts did you use then? remember these feelings are fleeting. in time, they will go away. i think if you look back, you will see that in similar situations the feelings did pass eventually and you made it through. you did, because you are here now. you have the skills to cope. you are stonger than you think you are. you made it thru in the past and you will make it thru again. take the steps to do what you can do and feel powerful in that. dont let the other stuff get you down. keep your focus on where you have power. and know that you will make it through. ![]() |

You do have a net of friends here, and so much help here. It may be worth the time to go for a walk, and listen to a book on tape or music for even 5 minutes.

I agree with Kaliope, breathe and take it one day at a time. Looking too far ahead with worry puts too much on your plate for one day.

I'm still wanting to cut. Not as bad, but it is still there. I was going to talk to my t about it this week, but we had to deal with some other things first. Ugh. I hate this.

I hope that the urges to cut are past you now. Just remember those of us who cut are all here for you, understanding how tough it can be. I really hope you can get through this, and all the other times that are likely to occur
