So I just SIed on my wrist and I complete got carried away, more so than I typically do when I SI. I've always disassociated during so I don't feel it. Well I got done and I noticed that I could see something that I shouldn't be seeing. I don't want to go into details because I am still new and I don't want to trigger anyome. And I am taking care of it and it has stopped bleeding and all but I really do not want to go to the ER.... like I fear I need to. So if anyone who isn't triggered could respond and help me out I'd be greatly obliged.

I can see something that shouldn't be seen and I need to know if I have to deal with it by going to the ER or can I take care of it at home.

If you don't go to ER, you could lose some use of your wrist. Even a nick of the tendon can escalate over time. It's like a rubber band, so a nick or tear can get worse. Not saying it will, but you're risking a major disability that can't be fixed later.

((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))) Glad you went to the ER...I was in the same situation last winter. That's not something you want to mess around with. By getting stitches you minimize the scarring, as well. If the wound is left open to heal itself without stitches, the scarring will be worse.

I did that on my ankle once. You do need stitches. Glad you went to er. I did that time too. Be careful. Dr told me if i had cut that deep on my arm i could have bled to death.

ER visit went well, I didn't mess up the tendon but I got stitches. Ever since I was 12 or so I've been SIing the the same always needing stitches and too afraid to go get them. This was my first time going to the doctor about SI. So I was really nervous but the doctor was nice. Since I usually do it in that spot and have never seen it before I am guessing I strayed a bit to far to the right, not to mention I dissociated even more than is normal for me. I already have a horrible scar on that spot anyway from all the times I've SIed there it concaves in quite a lot and is very noticable. Thanks for all the support guys it means a lot to me.

Thanks for update, Shelbey! That means a lot to us!
Glad it wasn't more serious. Is SIing an issue for you? Something you're dealing with or something you do? Don't have to answer--everything here is first of all your business only. Roadrunner |

yeah it has been a big issue for me for half my life since I was a kid. I live with my gran and she has always been emotionally distant so I came to it feeling it was the only way to let out my emotions. She likes to pretend it doesn't exist at all though. Ignorance is bliss to her. I used to do it everyday for hours at a time and here in the last two years I've really made a concerted effort to stop. But I always seem to come back to it every few months. It seems the longer I go without it it gets harder instead of easier. It used to control my life, and although it isn't that bad anymore I still struggle with it every day.

Since you are with a poverty-level-employees company, is there any mental health support available in your community? Some one-on-one, eye-to-eye help might come in real handy for you right about now. Nothing light having a coach in your corner.

teensy tiny small town so there is nothing. I had free counseling back when I was a minor that I found through the school counselor, but I don't qualify anymore since I'm no longer a minor.
