i got a new piercing on the back of my upper wrist.as a way to SI i would usually beat the crap out of my arm with a hammer.i am hoping with this new piercing there i will show some self control and not do this any more.it i do it will cause a lot of problems and it will destroy the piercing and i will have to take it out.it is a cute white gold butterfly with amethyst.it is nice to look at my arm and see something pretty and not a bunch of bruising.i hope i can keep it this way

I love piercings...yes, careful treatment is an absolute must, especially with surface piercings like this. Just curious, did you get it with a metal barbell or with plastic tubing?

It sounds really cute - maybe post a picture?

First, I am optimistic for you!!! Piercings tend to curb my SI and I actually got tattoos in my "spot" to SI. It has helped so much.

Second, dermal anchors need lots of healing time, you cant touch them, except when you clean(2x daily), otherwise you up your chance of rejection. Mine always hurt for a week or so, good luck, it sounds super cute!

That's neat - I like dermals better than barbells.

I completely understand, I got dermals to help curb my SI urges. Be super careful though Dermals and surface piercings tend to reject easily.
