This may be slightly unrelated, but I'm not supposed to post it in depression, so here goes...
has anyone else ever written suicide notes when you were feeling suicidal or really down or wanting to hurt yourself? I don't know if it's a good thing or not (obviously anything involving suicide would be negative but seeing that I wasn't actually going to kill myself it's not that bad) but it really helps when you are angry or hopeless. Kind of like when you're a little kid and saying, "I'm going to run away" makes you feel better, just so you can say "they'll be sorry when im gone." I have written suicide notes before when I was really depressed and it was a good way to vent and express my feelings. Any thoughts?

I have written them before. For me, writing them down and venting all of my frustrations can really help. I have found that then destroying them helps too - whether that be burning them or just ripping them up in the bin. It gets the frustration out and often helps to lower the pain.

Thanks, good to know that I'm not alone. I told a couple of my friends this and they got really creeped out, which I guess is a natural reaction for any mentally healthy person. I think it really helps to realease anger and pain, and it beats SI.

Nope, not alone. I too have written notes like that. It's a good way to vent, but we have to be careful. If it helps, then write one down, and destroy it afterwords. (catgoesmeow has a wonderful point about destroying them)
