So I only have a few minutes, but I have Bipolar, and I used to cut, when I was angry! My husband and mom are my triggers! Anyway my brother passed away 3 weeks ago, and the day after his wake I got in an arguement with my husband, and literally ran to the front window and just wanted to jump through it!!!!!!!!! I pictured the blood, and the pain, oh I wanted trhe pain SOOOOO BAD!!! But I stopped, and turned and threw myself on my couch! Then my husband came to me and we talked about it and I was better! I feel bad I was so close but was so happy I didn't do it!!!

I also pick at my skin, and make sores when I'm anxious-- it's different than the cutting when I'm angry! It soothes me. Anyway, My husband And I were having issues in Nov. so I started again, and it just wou;dn't heal! Finally I talked to my doctor about it and she perscribed me some ointment and a week later it';s almost gone!!!
Sorry I'm a bit manicy right now! But I think it'll calm down! I just wanted to write about that!

Hi marcy - thats ok, its good to talk im glad you managed to stop yourself but im concerned that you might continue to have episodes like that and maybe one day act upon them. Do you have a therapist? maybe you could tell her about these episodes and hopefully you can work together to better the situation? I too experience anxious skin picking, your not alone and there was a thread recently which i think is on this sub-forum somewhere which you might like to read and contribute too? Anyway good luck with your treatment if your getting any and remember you can talk to any of us anytime, we're here for you hun

Your welcome honey - im so sorry to hear of your brothers passing theres a bereavement forum on here should you need further support or you can just carry on posting here - we're all ears. Im glad you have a good, reliable therapist. It sounds like your making headway with your recovery and thats wonderful. I would just continue to be vocal with your therapist should anything new arise and i hope the meds carry on working for you. Good luck sweetie
