(((pandarama123456789))) I get you. I've gone a long time without it, but now I just want to pick up that damn blade and DO IT. But I can't. And you can't either. Don't throw everything away.

If you have a good streak going, keep it up, don't fall back into the addiction, and YES it is an addiction.

Best of luck.. hang in there.. please pick up a phone before you pick up a blade. Call a crisis line, call a friend call anyone..

"Pain" is the reason. Do you have a therapist so that you can work through this pain and, therefore, take away the trigger?

I do but we've never really gotten to deep into my self injuries, I guess because I always sort of shut down when she tries talking to me about it. The problem is, I'm not sure what to say to her. It's like she just expects me to have all my own answers for everything, but I don't.. I'm not even sure what triggers it anymore, I can be as happy as can be, then all of a sudden I get an overwhelming feeling to hurt myself in any way I can think. I want to get a new therapist because I don't feel very attached to the one I have and it doesn't seem like she really wants to help me, but I'm sort of stuck with her at the moment...

She tries to talk to you about it so this seems like she wants to help you.

Can you talk to her about the shutting down? Can you mention to her that it feels like she expects you to have your own answers? How long have you been with this therapist? Do you think that you aren't attached to her because you don't trust her?

well, that is a problem of mine, I find it very difficult to trust people. This is my second therapist and I've been with her for about a month, my last one pretty much just put words in my mouth and would always interupt me before i was done explaining anything,i guess I'm afraid my current one will just end up being the same
