Okay I don't have every day issues with si,
But I knew things were changing soo came I came in here.
I didn't think I would si again, but I have a few times since returning.
The weird thing is I hate false nails. But when ever I start to feel low I go and get them done. I mean I want them.
And then normally a few weeks later or days even I start si.
I know I should see this pattern but it don't really feel that way at the time.
A couple of weeks ago I burnt so bad. I still have the scabs. I have been trying to get to them but can't cos of the false nails.
This is a good thing for less scaring. Bit I just wondered if any one else does this sort of stuff?
This is my only second time of nails and si.
I don't know when I get my nails done i still in the head that I won't si, it's just a rough patch!
Don't know if this makes sense, hopefully some one understands it

greyclouds,
I could take what you are saying two different ways. One would be that somehow getting your nails done prior to an episode of si is becoming ritualistic. The other is that subconsiously you feel an episode coming on, and as you say, you can't take scabs off with the nails done, which means its a safety action so you can't make things worse.

I guess a third thing would be that you are punishing yourself for doing something that is perceived as improving your appearance. Whether you take the scabs off or not, you will get scars. I don't know you and have only looked at some of your past posts, but you don't deserve to suffer like that.

Let me leave you with a question that you don't have to answer. I just want you to think on it. If someone else that you didn't know were to restrain and burn you, would you let them without a fight?

Sam2
Thanks for this!

Thank you for your reply,
The answer to you questions is No.

I did have to think about this... But it is still a no I would not allow some one to burn me.

And for reasons, I have not si for 3weeks now. I believe I do have some control over it. And when I burn its with what I can handle.
Having someone else doing it, I would have no control.
I guess this question should be asked a lot in this forum!
It does really make you think.
Thank you for asking me that question. I will remember this question in my hour of need and hope i have the same answer to what I have gave you, maybe it will give me the strength to put down the lighter.

I've not seen you in here before but hope you stay around.

Hey wolf, today been okay thanks, I almost si last night,
I had everything in place, but I let it go.
So today am feeling better for that.
The temptation is high in the cards, but I'm controlling it.
It's been 3 weeks now , I start group therapy weds. (Skills for life)!! Bad name.
But I hope it will help.
Hope you are doing well??
