Lately I've started to hurt myself again.

I havnt done anything like this since Sept last year, and before that was a year. I know I'm not in a stable place right now, and i know why I'm doing it at the time.. But then i regain a sense of consciousness again, like I'm back in the room and i get annoyed that I've done it.

The prob i have at the mo is that anytime i feel the hurt and sadness slip in again its all i can think about. How can i distract myself??

Your hurt and sadness is probably an appropriate response to whatever is going on for you right now?

There are lots of helpful distraction ideas posted in the sticky threads for this forum that you should definitely check out. Do you think being around other people might help your mood?

Yes being around other people does distract me obviously, not necessarily change my mood.
It is more when I'm alone that i think about it, my emotions become intensified. In the evenings.

It's good that you noticed a pattern for when your emotions seem strongest. That gives you more info to work with.

The later in the day, the more I have thoughts of self harm too. I began doing cross stitching (to keep my hands busy) while watching TV or listening to the radio (to keep my mind busy). I didn't know or care how to do any handcrafts 'till someone suggested to me that I keep my hands busy. I took them up just to help out with this. Then, I try to keep my work somewhere I can see it, so when I'm reminded of how badly I feel I can also be reminded of the beautiful things I can create if I choose not to self harm. Hope maybe some of that helps.
Thanks for this!

That's a good idea actually, I'm not creative or good with my hands at all but i can try something. Maybe get my keyboard out again.
Thank for your advice
