It's been two weeks since i last SI but i just found like teh perfect razor. like the one i've always been looking for. i've been really stressed out lately trying to deal with my boyfriend (and his mother not liking me)and i think that made just a little cut would be okay. I don't want to get back into it. just a once in a while thing. does it really work like that or would i get to redependant on it again? i've been doing good so far... hmm...

Same here my cutting doesn't depend on my finding "the perfect razor" for the job. or one cut leading me back into always cutting, or once in a while thing.

I can have no razor in the house and have the urges come up. I can have 20 razors in the house and not have the urge to cut. My cutting urges come when the memories and flashbacks get going really bad and when I am under stress. I can go months without cutting and then the thoughts are there. I have lasted a year and almost 7 months and still those urges come. I will probably always bounce in and out of the urges just like my friends that are alcoholics or have done drugs and whether or not I never cut again well only time can tell. I don't make promises to myself or others that I may not be able to keep. I just keep it at all I can do is take it one day at a time and meet each round of urges head on fighting against it.

You should have a little meeting with his mother, maybe the two of you go out shopping and/or meet for lunch and get to know one another better and see if you can't at least understand each other even if you don't become good friends. You can't really know what his mother thinks of you unless you talk to her; "vibes" or his side of what she thinks is not the same. When I get anxious about another person, I think of the TV show, "Dharma and Greg" and how they make it work.

Work on solving the problems/stresses instead of giving in to them. There's no way giving in to them can help. It's a bit like nightmares where you're being chased; you have to turn around and face the monsters before they'll go away.
