i have tried to stray away from cutting when i feel depressed, despondent, or whatever so I have lately been planning to get another tattoo. It seems, it feels justified to mark myself in an "appropriate" way and still have the tattoo to see and remember my pain. Tattoos really are addicting....my goodness you get such an amazing feeling, JUST like cutting.

If it feels the same as cutting then I don't see that you're "straying away" by getting another tattoo? It's just a "different" way to self injure. Tattoos are a thing of pride and whimsy, a genuine expression of your whole self/being; think about showing "this" one to your grandchildren and what you'd say about it. "Appropriate" shouldn't need quote marks.

Hi!

My daughter J..has many beautiful and interesting tatoos. My favorites: a portrait of herself at the age of 20, and a huge colorful dragon that covers her whole back. All done by one of the South's best tatoo artists. Her first one was a human embryo on her left shoulder. Very detailed..I was surprised when I 1st saw it. tattoos

i have this star on my left shoulder with a chick inside to represent me (its kinda Tim Burton-ish) and the star is meant to protect me, from myself. and i have a butterfly on my right shoulder which i just got on a whim in high school.

I have one tattoo right now and been wanting another. I haven't gotten another due to my tattoo artist moving away. I found out recently that a guy I went to high school with is a tattoo artist in Nashville ( not far from me ). So now I have an artist again and I'm wanting an Amy Brown tattoo. So saving money. Once you get one you want another.

i have three tattoos. i have a cross, a biohazard sign and then a weird one that i really cant explain kindof a tribal kindof thing. the one i love is the biohazard just because my life is crazy and chaotic but comes together to makes something semi stable.
