How long does it take for your scars to go from red/pink to white? Months, years? Do they all eventually fade? I have a thick one that I cut with a pocket knife from late July that's bright red and I was curious if anybody had a time frame. Thanks.

My scars started out as purple and have just started fading to pink/skin colored. Not the recent ones but those took about a year. Buy some mederma (sp) to speed up the process.

I'm wondering this too...I have a lot of healed scars that are still red/purple from months ago. I would really like them to start to fade...

Mine take years to fade to white completely. I see them start to fade after a year or so though.

I've been using mederma sporadically...i've heard that vitamin E creams help too. I need to get my scars to be less noticeable...I'm in a wedding next october, the bride is a good friend, so she knows, but I still might try for a long-sleeved bridesmaid dress.
