this isn't about me, but about two patients in my hospital. One of them used to be doing well, she was working with staff to stop self harming and generally doing good. The other one spent two weeks in a secure unit whilst waiting for a place at our low secure, and I think that may have caused the following: she WANTED to get sectioned, she knew exactly what to do to get the attention, running away etc. Now she WANTS to go to a secure unit again. Basically the opposite of girl one.

The trouble is, they got really close these past few days and girl two encouraged girl one to join her in mutual self harm. They cut together, and then girl two cut deep into girl onesarm. Girl one is pressing charges for grevious body harm.

I'm myself a self harder, but have been doing well for months. However I find this to be very triggering and confusing. Is it normal for two people to do this, and do you know of any ways which I can support my two friends to stop doing it and help them work to get better again. Girl two is my best friend, I don't want her to keep down this path of disyructio, and am worried that she won't stop until she gets what she wants and goes to a secure unit. She told me the other day her new goal is prison, or a forensic unit, so I really want to help her stop all this.

Sorry if it was triggering, and thanks for any replies

very disturbing...............

I am a cutter. I have no issues with self harm (I still see it as much better than some alternatives)......

That said - I could never, ever, EVER harm another person. That is just not within me. I would rather die than to harm another person.
