As of today, I have not cut for 40 days.

It seemed to fly by and yet, it went so slowly.
It definitely helps to be distracted.

It's so hard not to give in. Sometimes the emotional pain is so much that I just wish I could trade the cutting for that pain. Things would be so much easier.

Sigh.

But anyways. 40 days down...the rest of my life to go...

40 days is amazing! And no one / nothing can take that away from you! I'm sorry that you're feeling this way. It sounds like you are dealing with a heavy lead. Hang in there!

Hi NoddaProbBob, 40 days!!! Congratulations!!!
Clearly it's taken a lot of strength to get that far so well done!! Sometimes it can be one day at a time, but every day counts.
Glad you've joined us though, I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful information and support on here to help with the urges and the pain you're feeling.
So whenever you want to talk.............
And welcome to PC!!!

Hi everyone.
Thanks so much for the kind replies!

I am new to the boards so I am just starting to get a feel for the community.

It is truly one day at a time. Sometimes, it's really like one hour at a time.
I waiver between wanting to continue self-harming and stopping. I am sitting right on the fence in the middle. Half of me wants to keep going, and the other half of me is so tired of it. Tired of not being able to wear short sleeves, ruining clothes from blood, nasty scars...the list goes on. It's such a slippery slope.

Thank you both for the warm welcome!
