I have a wound that is 3 days old. I cut much deeper then I had intended you could see inside my arm. I saw the next day that the inner flesh had risen to the top of my skin. been using peroxide and Neosporin as well as keeping it covered. This was going well till my giant dog jumped on my arm ouch!! It didn't do much to the wound.

You definitely need to have that looked at! You don't want it to get infected. Put some wet guaze on it and keep it covered until you can get it looked at.

I'm really sorry you were so upset to do this to yourself. I know what it's like...the hurt, the pain, nothing helps to numb you but to physically harm yourself.

I suffered from self-mutilation for about 10 years since I was 13, with sometimes months lapses in between. I've been straight from it for 5, and I know it's a hard behavior to kick. I have numerous scars on my arms to show for it, and have endured constant questions I could never answer.

Sometimes, if you feel you can't stop it, make sure you are careful or you could go into shock from bloodloss, and risk infection and tetanus. Make sure that you get shots to avoid this from happening. I would also use butterfly strips which you can find near the baidaids in most pharmacy stores. These hold a cut together so it doesn't spread open and produces a smaller scar. You can also find scar cream there, which helps reduce their appearance.

I hope you are okay, if you ever cut too deeply you might need to go to a hospital. Better to be safe than risk further injury or worse. Remember, as much as it hurts inside now, scars last forever.

Best wishes and *hugs* <3

I can't have it looked at that is a ticket to the psych ward if I have ever seen one.
I was doing okay I went for about three months and didn't self harm and I was actually happy for almost two of those months.
Now things are bad.
My service dog is sick she may have bone cancer or a joint problem needing surgery and I am terrified.
Its May. May is a BAD month for me something very bad always happens in May. It started when I left my parents and my birthday is in may.
My caregiver who is a friend is fighting with another friend of mine and my caregiver is angry with me because I wont in most cases take her side because I feel she is wrong. As a result I haven't seen my van nor has she helped as far as being my caregiver in almost a month. I need to face her because there is a serious problem the van isn't insured as of the first nor does she have permission to use the van only for herself. I cant even get ahold of her. I am having panic attacks over the idea of talking to her and panic attacks if I can't. A friend was paying the insurance but stopped this month and we need to take the van get it registered and insured but I cant do that without the van nor do I have the money for that so the van needs to come back home and sit in my drive till I get the money.
My caregiver is also mad at my friend that my friend and I hang out and talk. This just makes me really really hurt and sad.
Im afraid if I don't get the van back my friend that paid the insurane on the van will stop paying part of the rent on my place meaning I will loose my home and my dogs

I have had wounds like that. It is just trying to heal itself. I'm not sure what a doctor could do at this point because it's too late for stitches. Probably should have been stitched. they would just put antibiotic cream on it and cover it which is what you're already doing. I wouldn't go myself. Just watch for infection and if that happens you might want to go in.
Thanks for this!

I have had cuts that healed like that. I put vitamin e oil on it, which helps it heal. It should be fine if you keep it clean but you'll have a puffy scar. I'm not a doctor though but I'm not really sure what a doctor can do for it unless it gets infected. Keep it bandaged.

Looks like it probably could have used some stitches. If it happens again (and you absolutely insist on no doctor) try to 'tape' the edges of the wound together so that it appears more like a normal scratch than an open wound. Need to do this pretty soon afterwards though.

They make those butterfly bandaids but it's probably too late to really help. I had something similar happen about 8 years ago. I needed stitches but didn't go. It healed fine but left a nasty scar. Take care!

I hope you can get some help to deal with the self harm so that you won't feel you need to do this. I know it is so hard. Take care.

Within the first few hours you could have super glued it shut or gone to the doc for stitches. You can't do either of them now because it's been three days. Just keep it clean and covered.
