I am being really triggered today and am wanting to cut. I haven't so far and want to make dinner for my parents but that involves using a knife so am waiting until my mom gets home. I do want to surprise them with a strawberry pie.

I am trying to figure out what caused this day to start off bad. It could be that I slept to long and now need to punish myself and this is how I am wanting to do it.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Jannie,

I just want to say well done for not cutting. It sounds like you are doing what you need to do to take care of you. I feel bad about myself too when I sleep for too long, but you don't deserve to be punished, you deserve good things. I hope your day gets better.

Janniebug,
You did so well to recognize that the activity you wanted to do--cook dinner--could put you in a dangerous situation. Then you found a way that you could do the activity and still be safe. This is totally awesome!

Sleeping late fills me will guilt too. I should have been up doing stuff, taking care of things. I have to remind myself that sometimes sleeping late is one way to take care of myself.

<font color=green>But the implicit and usually unconscious bargain we make with ourselves is that, yes, we want to be healed, we want to be made whole, we're willing to go some distance, but we're not willing to question the fundamental assumptions upon which our way of life has been built, both personally and societally.--Bill Plotkin, Soulcraft
