Has anyone ever been in the hospital for si? i just got out of one and it didnt help at all. Everyone kept telling me that once im out of there i wont have urges or anything like that. But all that happened was, they upped my meds and now i feel worse. i was in the hospital for 2 and 1/2 weeks and then i had to do out paitent for a week. But i dont feel any better. Just worse. Even though more has happened since i came out, i still want to si.
Any Suggestions????

wow
you know i just told myself i don`t have to visit this forum that much but when i saw this"any1" (and without answeres yet )
just couldn`t stop myself....
i am sorry to hear you got yourself into such a situation

i haven`t been to hospital becasue of SI, and i thank God for that fact i didn`t do anyhting serious to myself, but i`ll try to help you from what i know and from common sense-those 2 rarely mussleaded me!

first-if you got into hospital becasue of SI you are in a serious condition! i guess you know that!
those who told you that your urges will be gone didn`t know what they were talking about! you will always want to SI untill you CURE the feeling and thought that is CAUSING it!
since people who could do it just by themselves are RARE
my advice to you is get yourself proffessional help, as fast as possible.

the need to SI is not going to dissapear from the minit you will start the treatment - maybe see a psychiatrist?
i hope i am not frightening you with the word "psychiatrist"
but if you have been into hospital maybe it`s better for you to check out that possibititie. but a professional phsychologist can tell you the diagnistic and tell you what is best for you, i suppose.

i hope that you will start taking care of yourself and will feel better

can you say what SI lead to the hospitilisation? I have been in several times after ODs but only ever as an outpatient with cutting etc. Last time I was in hospital I SIed for the majority, if not all, the stay despite everything that was put in place to try and help incl meds, nursing support etc. Only thing I can suggest is to try all the 'reasons not to'/ 'things to do instead of SIing' suggestions in this forum. If you are aware of your triggers you may be able to work past them; the one that has worked best for me is waiting- wait another 5 minutes; wait 1/2 hour; wait 1 hour etc until the urge has gone... Best of luck

When you say more has happened are you saying that you have self harmed more?

I know you can work through this, with all the support you are getting IRL and here...but it might take more time than you are willing to realize.

(((hugs)))
