So lately I have been dealing with some stress, anxiety, et. That have caused me to self harm again. I am not looking for pity at all I just want to get my experience with self harm out there. So I first started "self-harming" when I was about ten. Whenever I got upset I wouldn't yell but I would punch myself in the legs, arms, etc. until I had very large bruises dome them. At this age I don't understand what self harm was I just did it. Later on when I was about thirteen I started cutting my fingers with an exacto knife. I had discovered what self harm was and this was my first step into the terrible world of self harming. A few months ago I began to slit my wrists with different blades. I was cutting deep enough to bleed. My friends saw this and reported me to the school counselor a few weeks ago. I haven't been back since but I hope to go next week to talk about aspergers and stuff. The past few days I've started cutting again due to a lot of jumbo jumbo shiz. So yeah that's it. Thanks for listening.

Coping with emotions is hard and self harm is a bad example of one. I finally broke the chain of self harm and I know it is tough. I'm sure if you keep trying you can break the chain too. That's not to say it's easy because it's not. We have to learn new coping skills to replace the self harming. Keep trying. I hope you can share with a counselor. It helps to get the feelings out. Good luck.

Self-harm is so addictive. I have always thought the urges were like getting your wheels stuck in mud, the more time you spent spinning them, the more stuck you get.
I really hope you go back to school and allow the school counselor to talk to you. More than likely they will asses the self-harm, any suicidal thoughts, ask you what's been going on to cause this and then contact your parents. Most school counselors don't have master's degrees but hopefully you'll be sent to a school social worker or school psychologist (they do have more than a bachelor's). |

Thanks! We just got a new counselor, the one before him was a bit of a jerk. But now the new one has helped a lot of my friends so I hope to talk to him soon. Thank you again!

Not very good but I made a promise to my best friend to put down the blade for two weeks. Then we can add on as I go. It sucks majorly but I promised...
