I haven't for about a year. Lately, though, I've been having dreams and thoughts of it. I'm struggling a lot right now and I don't really know what to do.

At the moment, self harming seems like the only way to help me cope.. I know there are better ways but this seems like the only way to me. But I know if I did self harm my boyfriend would be heart broken and pissed with me, which just makes me feel trapped and even worse.

Hang on in there please and phone a support line, you don't want to get back on that treadmill! That's what the phone lines are there for, and yes it is bad enough and yes you do deserve it. Good luck and please find any determination you can.
If you do give in,do still be kind to yourself.

have you got any distractions? could you check out the Distractions sticky and the Reasons Not To sticky at the top of the Self Injury forum? hang in there, the urge will pass.

Thanks guys. I had a good talk with my boyfriend who is helping me realise that it's not the only option right now. I also tried to speak to my psychiatrist but she blamed my feeling down and close to self-harm on my new medication and that it'd pass. >_> Ah well, I've got enough will power to not do it, doesn't change the fact the thought is constantly in my mind.

Thank you all though, it's nice to read your replies - cheers me up.

Praying for you for strength to stay on the wagon and stay safe. Your boyfriend sounds a good sort. We want you to get through this time too.

almost a year - that is an amazing achievement. I hope you see the fact that you HAVE succeeded.... for over 300 days.

I think you can power thru your current issue.

Best wishes.
Thanks for this!

It does lend a whole new significance to how well you've done when you count the days you've gone without hurting yourself instead of saying "about a year". Really drink in those victories there...after all, you did the hard work to succeed on each of them
