hello,
I know some of my posts have said I don't want to stop and part of me does think that way but most of me knows this is not a long term coping solution and I have help with showers now and I am not proud of the fact that I cut and I don't like the fact that others will see my cuts and I am having major surgery in January and I need to be in my best physical health as possible so everything will go right this time and so there will be less of a chance there will be complications like last time and I have stopped for 8 years before so I know I can do it it is just the first couple months that are the hardest I just hope I can be strong when the urges come - random_emotion

when you stopped for 8 years, did you find an alternative to cutting?

no I was put into a residential treatment center for teens for about a year and if you wanted to leave you had to stop and I just coped by other healthier ways like journaling, not being alone when I felt the urge, etc I was also a lot happier so the urge wasn't as bad thats why I am so nervous this time because my mood is horrible and I am anything but happy so I thought I would post it here for some support and to make it more "real" by posting it for others to see

Yes, I have seen it, and 'heard' that you are going to try and stop. Sounds like the journaling is a good idea, and to reach out to people when you feel the urges. You can do this.
