anyone else ever get images of what severe SI your brain wants you to do, and it feels like they are creeping closer and closer and that eventually they will stop being images and you will just do it?

When it gets real bad talk to a pcp or ER and ask for meds with this or counseling. Don't assume anything but deal with it... (((hugs))) I wish you success in beating this

I've had those thoughts sometimes. I don't have a big history of self injury, but I have done it before and I've been struggling lately with hitting myself in the head and it's scary because I've read it can actually do brain damage after a while. But definitely get help any way possible. I've finally started to get help for my issues by talking to my old youth pastor. Sometimes someone like that I think can actually be better than professional help in way because you have a connection with them. I wish you luck with getting rid of those thoughts though. I know you can do it and you may not know me, but I like to help people in any way I can and I'm always open to talking about anything.

It was a lot more common when I was younger - I seem to have mostly outgrown it, having intrusive flashes and images of myself being brutally attacked or mutilated or otherwise harmed. I seem to have gotten past that, numbed myself to my usual triggers. It's still quite easy to imagine myself in the place of someone being harmed, though. |
