Hey,
I have a quick question. I burnt myself the other day and ended up with a couple third degree burns...they're not that big really, dime sized. However, I want to take care of them so they'll heal faster and they'll be less likely to scar so does anyone have any advice. I tried looking it up online, but not too much luck, a couple sites said not to put any lotions or anything on it.....any advice? I have some vitamin E oil, think that would be good?
thanks.

See your doctor and ask for some Silvaden. My son once had scalding water thrown at his arm and the skin came off in a sheet, the er doc gave us silvaden and he has no scars at all.

Third degree burns should be treated by a doctor in some way because of their severity. Or you could go to your local pharmacy and ask a pharmacist. Take care of yourself.

For the best care see a nurse to get it dressed. Another option- I don't know what pharmacies are like in the USA but here you can get advice, buy the best dressing for the wound, and find out about the best lotions and when to use them.
