several urges in the past few days - some due to memories, some to fears of future events. This one from a trigger in a movie - wanting to swallow an entire bottle of advil. No i'm not going to. I've not acted on anything serious in 7 weeks. Just getting it out of my head so it doesn't continue to haunt me. Oh and doing the dishes earlier was close to problematic with the serated knives in there, luring me.
Why do the pictures, thoughts, urges, images not go away?

(((((((((((Kiya)))))))))))))))

Glad you're not going to act on the triggers. I know how hard it is. Maybe next time, you can wait until you're feeling more grounded before doing dishes where sharp knives are concerned? That's what I've had to do in the past.

They take a long time to go away so that they're just a dull noise in the background... some days are easier than others.

Please be safe. PM me if you ever want to chat (unfortunately I can't respond right now since I'm heading to bed) But I'll PM you in the morning, ok?

yeah i usually do wait for the right time to do dishes - this one crept up on me. i started them because my roommate left for the weekend leaving the sink burried in dishes. so i had to do them to eat, and then found she also left the huge serated knife -point up!!- in the sink and i had been reaching around it the whole time, but couldn't see it in there. i totally could have accidently gouged or cut myself.

i am glad your not going to act on the urges... i understand how intrusive those thoughts can become... i am trying to replace them with the truth as soon as they come into my head... keep staying safe...lyn

Yikes! That's dangerous, even without it being a trigger for some people.

Keep at it, you can do this!
