Hi. I'm new. I am very thankful to find a great forum who perhaps, i might find some people to help me out. So thank you all.
![]() I know this guy who tells me that he cannot get rid of his Ex girlfriend. I want to help him. But i don't know how. He has dumped her already. But if he leaves her, she starts to do something stupid, like cutting her wrist and drinking herself continuously. She acts very mean to all girls that he talks to (even as friends) and even though they've broken up, she still acts as if he is still her boyfriend. Now, he has tried ignoring her by turning his phone off. However, if she doesn't hear from him 30 mins or more, she does the same thing again (as in 'cutting her wrist' etc). He has to talk nice to her on phone too, otherwise, the call will last a lot longer. This has been going on for 3-4 months now. This girl's doctor tells her to go to counselling service. However, she skips the appointments. I am feeling very sorry for my friend because it is like as if he has no more freedom and must inform her of everything that he has done. Yes, and she follows him around, so she's 'always' with him (thankfully, they don't live together). I should've posted it in the 'Relationship' Thread, however, i would like to know if there's any help on how to stop this girl from hurting herself. it sounds like she is just doing it becoz she knows he would not dump her. perhaps it would be better if he either didnt get in contact at all or spoke to her friends/family to help her to move on. i know its difficult if you are worried that she might do something difficult but she needs to see that a relationship out of guilt is not the same as being in love? hope that helps Lxxx

Precisely. It's exactly what we knew what she was up to. I tried getting the guy to contact with the girl's mum. And it turns out... 0~0 that the girl's mum is as stubborn as she is and dislikes the boy very very very much (he told me she slam the phone down on him once after telling her). I'm quite sure that the girl do have some problem issues because there is a history of her cutting her wrist in the past, so i know that she would cut herself until she erm... you know. It's not a good ending. Her friends are there for her, however, they couldn't keep an eye on her 24/7 and this girl would not listen (quite stubborn, selfish, immoral, spoiled in a way). The worst is that... she's super-sensitive. 0_0 Not good if you know what i mean (in this situation).
I swear, i am not making this up or anything. 0_0 When i saw this problem, i didn't want to believe it. But it's true and real and very very hard to solve for this poor friend of mine. I was about to give up on his problem but coming across this forum, i hope someone could give me a website or any sites that might help my friend out. So far, i have a few who's tried helping out, and even though he's tried it all, i just want to thank you for your concern and thoughtfulness. ![]() "Cherish your happy moments, for they make a fine cushion at old age..."

He is going to have to be firm. Tell her once and for all that he is not going to be in her life. Yes, she probably will act out but that is her choice not his. He cannot be responsible for her actions unless he wishes to be in this relationship until her eventual death. I would suggest that he talk to her mom one more time. She doesn't like him so he can start out with "I know you don't like me so I want to do you a favor and get out of your daughters life. I will not see or talk to her again. I am afraid that she may do something that will endanger her so please keep an eye on her." Then he has to move on. If she continues to follow him around he can get a restraining order on her.
I hate giving advice like this because I have a fairly good idea how she is feeling and it is not good. Her pain is running deep, she needs help. But there comes a time when a person continues to refuse to help themselves that the people around them need to get on with their own lives. I sincerely hope she gets the help she needs.
