We are just like the rest of you Living day by day. Only you are confident And always know what to say. Instead of using words like you We use our razor blades. To etch out our stories Hoping everything will fade. We live within these dark minds A place you may never know. Almost always shadowed with doubt And hoping that the sun may one day show. Our scars tell a story Our tears sing a song About where we started And how that place is long gone. Many of you don't know Or even understand How we can cut ourselves With such a steady hand. We're not asking for you to understand us Or even pretend to care. But we just want you To always be aware. You never know When it may happen to you. To family, a friend And you never had a clue. I hope this gives some insight For those who try to find Any kind of answer Within these dark minds.

As with so much of your poetry it sent tingling up and down my arms.
