Not that I can multitask while brushing my teeth anyway...
Unfortunately a lot of companies expect employees to multi-task, because it saves them money. (Make the receptionist not only take calls but work on spreadsheets for example) But none of the tasks get our full attention.

I believe some are better at it than others but I knew we aren't hard wired to do it. Same with working at night.

I NEVER take my phone ANYWHERE near the bathroom or water at all! Nothing is that important I tell you. I don't get people taking the phone with them in the stall at public restrooms. I've heard women talking on the phone while doing something else.....

Well, I have been known to take my phone into the bathroom when I'm talking to my sister--but not to anyone else!

I got a robo call yesterday from Kroger about Jif. I do buy it and it doesn't have the codes they mentioned. I've gotten other calls from them about other products in the past but it's been years.

I get Jif all the time and never had trouble. It turns out my jar DOES have one of the codes in the sequence (I didn't look closely enough before and it's so TINY). BUT I've eaten half the jar already with no bad effects.

It's also delicious with bananas or apples.

I got a phone call that rang once and went right to voicemail. Yellow Flag

Recording said I qualified for Student Loan Forgiveness.
Red Flag I haven't had student loans in the decade

Recording "Call us back immediately so we can fill out the application"
Translation - tell us all your personal information so we can scam you.

Reporting those is no longer fruitful. They say to just delete them.

Basically if I do not know you personally - delete delete delete

I like how you write "translation."

I don't report anything because whatever agency (FTC, FCC, whatnot) and well-known company/bank (FedEx, Apple, Amazon, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc.) or the post office already know about them. And they seem powerless to stop scammers from posing as them.

Since our primary thankfully passed, I haven't been getting non-stop calls from unknown numbers without even a recorded message. Just rang 3 times and stopped or went to my machine and hung up.

I've gotten every scam out call there I think: Fix your computer (I don't have one), car warranty scam (my car is over 20 years old), SSN scam, IRS scam....

Getting a lot of scam texts though.....they aren't blocked or silenced like calls are. No, I don't want a bed partner, a delivery status on my package, or a unlocking of my account by giving my password. And besides it's really about something else: Stealing your sensitive info.

Yep, they're just after secure info.....

If I talk to a person (and I likely won't even answer the call to start with), I ask them to send me a letter/information because I don't make transactions over the phone. Of course, they never send me anything.

I once got a call telling me I'd won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. I said I thought they were a scam, because first of all, I didn't think they would call me first. They could never convince me. The caller sounded foreign, and that always makes me suspicious. He didn't sound at all like Ed McMahon (sp?).

I thought publisher’s clearinghouse came to the door? In any case you have to inter it to win it. The odds of winning that are even less than the state lottery! I daydream what I’d do with the money if I won when I’m watching the HGTV but I know I’d never win cause I don’t play.

Is Ed McMahon still alive?? I think Nammu is right, you have to enter to win. I never enter anything because I never believe I'd win. I don't play the lottery either. Just realized what I need is not millions of dollars but millions of REAL FRIENDS. With money I'd be able to get a lot of material things and a nice place to live. But still alone. As they say you can't buy happiness.

Yes, I think they just show up at your door. I used to "play'' but I felt I had to buy some of the trinkets they always wanted me to buy, so I quit. I don't think I'd be happier with all that money, anyway--and the winners tend to lose friends, marriages, etc. as a result.

I don't know who shows up at the door now. I haven't seen any of their commercials lately.

You’re right, if you win you don’t know if people like you for you or your money….Cautions for us seniors

I haven’t seen their commercials in years either. So wonder if they are even still around?
