I am 50 never been with a woman but now I seem to realize I like woman more. I have only been with men all my life. is it b/c I take depression meds? Is it I have always been? I do not know anything. I have no one to ask. I have friends gay and straight but I could never feel safe talking with them. I really do not trust any one with this. so here I am typing it out for a bunch of strangers.
Thanks for this!

Hey mtex,

Can you try dating a woman and see how it goes? Or maybe put aside gender and go for meeting a person you enjoy spending time with. Imo gay, straight, bi, it's all on a sliding scale.

hi, mtex,
i've never heard of depression meds changing one's sexual orientation. depression meds do affect sexual performance though, usually making arousal more difficult and decreasing sensation in men. they also decrease sexual drive. so, it's not surprising that you feel less attraction to men - your libido seems to have decreased. it also seems that you are acknowledging / realizing your feelings for women. as meds are involved, i suggest you speak with the MD/therapist who prescribed the depression meds of your change in sexual attraction/feelings and ask if your medication dose is too high. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

I think Guy's post was a good one. The only I have to add is that you might want to explore the possibility that your bisexual with your therapist.

I've been married 4 x's. I have a sister that's gay. I have never had a good relationship with a man. I've often thought if I'm mean't to be with a woman.
But then there is the issue of I wouldn't want a woman who prefers to dress like a man nor act like one.
I know this didn't help. But yes as Michele#3 said 'bisexual / therapist.
It's nothing to be ashamed of.
I do know that a lot of women who have been sexually abused are gay. And I can understand that!

It's good you have found your way here. I find PC to be a very safe place and encourage you to explore all it has to offer. Maybe, in time, more answers to your questions will be revealed. Welcome.
