I read the community guidelines and it says that "messages containing or condoning illegal acts" are not acceptable. Since there are underage users on this forum, not just adults, you are condoning that watching pornography is okay.

It also says you are not allowed to post anything that may trigger past trauma. Since pornography is about sex, people may be triggered to think about past sexual abuse.

Asking about a private sex life isn't very supportive but may come across as threatening and awkward.

I didn't realize it at the time but I have never seen a question on Y!A asking about what types of porn and fantasies turn you on, and I've been on the site for over three years.

I have learned from other members that it is best that when you are in doubt, it's best not to post. I hope this helps

I'm sorry but I have to reply! If all we do is worry about triggering other people's past traumas then well, enough said. Use the trigger icon. Just because there are minors viewing this site and/or members of this site does not mean that we cannot post adult material. It is up to their parents to monitor their internet usage (if they so choose) and up the the minor to be cognizant of the fact that there may be adult material available to them and to steer clear of it if they happen to stumble across it.

Just because you feel guilty posting on here does not mean you should insinuate that others should also feel guilty, that is manipulation and codependent behavior.

If anything, the minor should be reported to PC admin as indulging in reading adult content so they can be warned.

As for "condoning illegal activities" I hardly think talking about watching porn does that. We're talking about watching porn, as responsible (at least, hopefully) adults who understand that porn doesn't reflect what normal sex should be like. We're not talking about sneaking a look at porn on the internet as underage minors who may or may not understand the difference between sex in porn vs. what sex is like in real life.

To those underage minors who ARE watching porn (because we know darn well you're doing it regardless of what the law says), I don't have to condone it, but at the very least, I can tell you that what you see in magazines, videos or on the internet is a hypersexualized form of entertainment that does not reflect what real life sex is like. For that there is sex education, sex therapists and self-help books on sex (much of which is legally available to minors in bookstores everywhere).

Having been a victim of sexual crime I can tell you that it is my responsibility alone to protect myself and make sure I take care of myself if and when I become triggered.
