Somewhere in this section someone posted a word that meant that you do not identify as either male or female, and now I can't find it on the internet anywhere.
I am considered a female but don't agree with that, but don't want a sex change either at this point because I don't think (or maybe just do not know) about identifying as a male; anyone know what that word is? Thanks, -obj |

Genderqueer tends to be an umbrella term for anything that isn't binary male or female, although it can be used as a specific term if the person wants.
Androgynous means that you feel a combination of both male and female traits. Genderless means that you don't feel any association to gender at all. You have no sense of gender identity. Agender means that you do feel a gender identity but it is not made of male or female traits. Your gender identity is neither male nor female, but neutral. Neutrois is what transsexual is to transgender, essentially. People who are neutrois are often genderless or agender as well who want to physically transition to having no primary and/or secondary sexual characteristics. |

Although Pandoren mentioned this, I think 'agender' is the closest match to the term that you described. An agender person identifies as neither male nor female, they feel outside of the 'binary system' so to speak (with male at one end and female at the other.) I am also a biologically female agender. Basically, I just dress what I feel like: sometimes I wear ties and compression shirts, other times I dress like a girl. I have an androgynous haircut. My advice would be to not undergo a sex change: your biological sex does not have to dictate your self-expression. Just be yourself and don't feel the need to conform to society in terms of your gender matching up with your biological sex. Good luck!

Like the post above said, don't stop expressing what you want to express just because your biological gender doesnt match...
Be yourself, and remember that you are not alone. I myself express some feminine features in my behaviour. ![]() |

Interesting that this topic is here. I have not found anyone else who feels the same way before.
I don't feel strongly affiliated with either gender. Honestly, gender feels like something imposed onto me by the outside world. I've described myself before as being "blank". Sometimes I come across as a guy and sometimes as a girl. I'm pretty much not willing to act a certain way or take certain interests because I "feel" like a guy or a girl. I don't feel like either. It took a long time to discover that that was what I was feeling because I never questioned my physical gender. But after getting older I realized I don't mentally associate with either. |
