Funny point for discussion. Or not.

I see it used on here this way a lot but when did the word "orgasm" become a verb?

When did "orgasm" become a verb? That is a good question. I am always interested in how words are used. On my thread about oral sex' safety, I did not know what preposition to use with the verb "conceive" - conceive with/by/from a man? I still do not know, and it bothers me. I thought that it was funny that sleeping with someone else's man does not bother me, but not knowing which preposition to use bothers me very much. So if you can help me with the preposition, I would appreciate it. As to "orgasm" as a verb, I have seen it used this way for a couple of years.

I can explain the reason for my inquiry. I currently come several times a week. In the past it was once daily. I am wondering if there is still some side effect from my meds. I am also wondering if I should try Wellbutrin, a medication that increases sex drive in many people. It should not matter that much how other people come - I really should be comparing to my baseline - but I am still interested.

LOL. "With" sounds best to me. The others just sound awkward. Of course, it may have something to do with the fact that I like the idea that conception should be one of the most wonderful, beautiful, loving, cooperative acts 2 people can possibly take part in. Making another life. So, "with" fit that best. "By" and "from" sound almost like it was done without her consent.

I think it comes from my Native American background but, to me, the way language and words are used should be expressions of feeling not just documentation of ideas, settings and activities. So, even if not syntactically correct, I prefer to use them however I see fit to best describe what I am seeing AND feeling. F dem grammar Nazis!

I can actually remember the first time I ever heard the word orgasm used as a verb. It was Mariel Hemingway in the 1985 movie "Creator" when she was complaining to Peter O'Toole that she "orgasms too easily". I remember thinking it sounded weird but not as weird as her thinking she had a problem! Never really heard it used again as a verb until I came to this site. Funny.

Also being in my 40s, I used to come a few times a day but now am happy with several a week. Age, my own personal energy and libido all play into it. If you're happy with the current frequency, you're good to go! I wouldn't mess with Wellbutrin. It made my wife not be able to pee. At all! She just could not; even when her bladder was painfully full. She had to get catheterized to get relief while she weaned from it. It is a confirmed but uncommon side effect. Needless to say, she didn't feel like having sex while her bladder felt like it was ready to explode.

OK, so she conceived with him and he conceived with her - wonderful!

What an awful side effect of WB your wife had!

The medication killed my sex drive. It happens never w/ my H and if I forget to take my meds then I'm right on it because I know that w/ solo time it will happen. If I am taking my meds then you can forget it completely.

I tried wellbutrin and hated it. I took it early in the morning and only went for 3 days w/ no sleep. No sex is worth giving up my sleep for. No sleep will make you crazy (but no sex might to)

So it seems that my frequency, several times a week, is the mode and I should not worry.

Interesting thread. I rarely orgasim. I think a lot has to do with the medicine I am on. I can't remember the last time I did. That's sad huh?

I orgasm every day by masturbating lol. But my boyfriend and I have sex every few weeks (he has a really low sex drive) and I do not orgasm during intercourse, however afterwards he takes care of me until I orgasm. I have rarely had problems orgasming. It is a great stress reliever.

Try reducing the dose of the medicine.

doggiedo if I know sex is in the plan. I skip one day (only one day) of my meds and wait until the latest possible moment to take it again the next day.

ex I take my meds at 8:00 am If I know we are going away overnight or will not have the kids around I'll wait until 10:00 the next night to take my meds. So that's 36+ hours.
