Have to say though that its a load of old twaddle ! Hubby views porn and is a fantastic lover he has viewed porn since he was a young lad and is now in he fortys.

They have come out with sweeping statements and I am not allowed in to defend other men (and or woman) as its the mens forum !

Grrrrrr .

Im glad you and your husband are enjoying pornography and have no problems with it...you must have luck on your side

However, the majority of men using porn are not using it for any type of sexual gratification but are doing it to compensate for feelings of lonliness, despair, and total lack of human emotion or connection from their own lives ( me included)

I am not against viewing pornography....its not a multi-billion dollar industry by chance

My whole point is many men "trap" themselves into believing its harmless and gets the mood going per se...

im a sex addict and have been for some time...my psychiatrist said it was easier to help heroin users recover than most sex addicts...pornography plays with the brain in a way few scientists or psychiatrists understand

im tired of preaching...

I agree Tishie that generalites are dangerous aspects of thinking. There are always exceptions and sometimes those become the rule...

Relative to porn,,we have come a long way from the Sear's catalog...,,There was a time not so long ago when there were groups that positioned themselves strongly against its "vulgar" depictions...

We humans have very active imaginations,,it spurs a wealth of reality. I have found that with a reasonably sound moral foundation excursions into visual and/or written fantasy can be a healthy experience. The problems can and do arise when the practice becomes obsessive...

IMHO.

At the risk of sounding arguementative, I think the majority of people that use porn do not have a problem with it. It's like anything else: alcohol, food, sex, gambling, video games, exercise, etc. The majority of people can use these things appropriately without issue. SOME people have problems with it and when they do it usually destroys their life, at least for a period of time.

What I've found irl is that people that have issues with these things think it's wrong for EVERYONE, not true. IMO it's not the activity that "tricks you, traps your, and controls you".

For every single activity on this planet, there are many people that have an addiction to it, even though the majority have no issue. The only answer I think is each person taking care to avoid those things that are unhealthy for themselves.
