At age 41 and after being married to the same man for 23 years (together for 25 years) - I would say that we have sex about once every two weeks... we started out having sex two or three times a day back when we were in our passionate young twenties.

AGE effects everything..... even that of Good Sex.

My husband is 45 and I am 34.

Up until about a month ago, we were having sexual encounters probably 3-4 times a week. Some weeks more, some weeks less. Although probably 1 in 3-4 times was actually beneficial for me.

After posting I started to think...... while my husband and I have sex about once every two weeks I personally have sex about four times a week (by my self) - you figure it out.

I can probably count the number of times I've had sex on one hand for 2009. My fiance lives about 45 minutes away and I'm in school and don't have a car. I'm hoping that will change o_O;;; I'm determined to be one of those people who has sex every day for the rest of their life... even if that means we have to use viagra and lube! xD

Never. I'm 41. Boyfriend's not interested, and my OCD prevents me from having people touch me, anyway. Plus, while I want it mentally, physically, my body isn't responding too much. I think I'm nearing menopause.

I am 40 and my wife is 31 and pregnant and we engage four to five times a week, sometimes it's just oral with her as the benefactor but that's the average.

See, you just summed up my problem. When I have sex, it is on one hand.

To answer the general question, me & wife are early 40s and BED DEAD, to my dismay. Some other issues going on in the relationship, we have some things to work through.

Teehee -
I'm thrilled to hear this happens to the men as well... as I am usually the one left to fend off the dreaded wet spot.

We're back to the once a year cycle at my house. You guys with the multiple times per week - hah - you crack me up.

Our marital sex was low compared to most couples. After marriage, about 10 times a year max. My wife's hysterectomy+ovectomy in 2005 happened just as we were getting back into a moderately healthy sexual cycle. Once she had the operation - she didn't take any follow-on hormone treatment. She added 30-40 pounds and tended to complain of back problems. All she wanted to do at night was moan getting into bed, find a comfortable spot and go to sleep. We're at 15 years of marriage this month - pretty young too (mid-40s). I say our sexual life is pathetic, but our family life is pretty good.

I'm someone who never ever pushes for sex. I don't plead, prod or poke. I feel that if a couple is intended to be in a sexual relationship, they're on the same page. They look at each other, sense that, feel it and it happens. Every other woman in my life prior to marriage was like that even after a few years being together. I'm a sexual person - but I am also someone who feels uncompelled to "wrassle it out of someone". Especially with a wife who has chronic back pain, allergies, smokes before bed (yech) and has low hormones, I feel like I'd be doing our marriage a disservice if I was demanding sex.

We've been to couples therapy too, I go to a T weekly. I'm generally happy too. Once I have dropped to this level of sexual activity - I'm pretty much "broken" of the habbit. But give me a highly sexual partner and I'll be whoopin' it up like the rest of you. I know what we're missing and it can be a little lonely sometimes - but, adapting and coping are my best friends these days.

Bonaire, you have no idea how much I appreciate your openess and honesty with this. I really struggle because I know my partner wishes we had sex more, however, I'm hardly ever in the mood and when I am sometimes it lasts for less than a minute it seems. Plus, I really don't enjoy sex that much. My husband and I probably average once every two or three weeks. We've done it twice in one day, but we've also gone over two months without. It's really hard to talk about sometimes considering average 21 year old newlyweds tend to do it a heck of a lot more than we do. It's nice to know we arn't alone and that there are others who are happily married but still have issues in this department.

on average 4 a week...but I hear after a couple months on zoloft that could pick up...It depends on the time of year though to...this last winter with no jobs, no school...I would say 8 a week between december & January....which is probably while 3 out of our 4 kids were born in sept.
in the summer it can dip to 2 or 3 a week. but maybe not if that Zoloft side effect hits me in the next month

It varies, lately 7+ times per week, sometimes that is 2 or 3 times a day. We're married in our mid-twenties.

For those of you that are stating 3+ time a week - may I ask?

Your Age?
Years Married?
If not married - How long together?

For those of you that state once or twice a year - may I ask?

Whose decision was this?
Do you still cuddle and share intimacy outside of sex?

Thank you.

My husband and I are in the 3+ gorup.
We are both 36 years old. My hubby is 4 days older then I am.
We have been married for 15 and a half years now. Married Nov. 93
We have been together in a relationship and partners for over 19 years now.

Ppl might think it weird but it works for us. My husband and I have had our own bedrooms for 2 years now. But still have wonderful sex.

Usually 2-3x/week with its mate also in a body of his own ... pretty much daily or nearly so -- sometimes several times in a day sometimes skipping a day here or there -- with other Entities (not human) who activate lahati (sexual/spiritual fires of ecstasy) directly from inside; They don't need physical bodies to do this.

me - 38

wife - 35

married 11 years in May

I cant help but think these people who say "once a year" are really hiding from the fact that this is quite abnormal...good sexual health is intertwined with good mental health

HEY! I am not a cougar, this time! I went through a slump where I just wasn't interested in sex and then all the sudden the drive came bacK ~shrugs~ When LK was going through his worst time with PTSD he wasn't interested in sex at all and it must have been several months. It seems normal that the sex life ebbs and flows with the stresses with life. Those that are only 1x a year them & their spouse need to see the Dr. There are so many physical things it could be, a simple hormone imbalace in women is VERY common.
I have a very good friend that her & her hubby have had sex 1 in 7 years. he's an alcoholic and apparently can't. She wants him in Rehab soooo bad.

We've been married for a year, but living together for four. Marriage didn't change anything.
