Does anyone else have this problem? I wake up every few hours and I'm covered in sweat. We keep it below 70 in the house, so it's not hot. I'm not having bad dreams, or any dreams really. I think it's associated with my depression because I never notice this when things are good, but I've been doing better the past few days - except for this. I thought things were getting better, but now I'm waking in the middle of the night again - wringing wet. It's like my mind has decided that if I won't listen and fix the mind issues, then it will take over the body and torture me that way too. No more problems please....

Ask your doctor if this could be a side affect of any medication or this could be peri-menopause. I lower my heat down to 67 at night because we have blankets to keep warm. Wear a sleeveless shirt and shorts or sleeveless short nightgown to keep cool.

thanks miracle - glad it's not just me.

lynn, I've been wondering if it has to do with menapause too, but it is also pretty common for me when I'm depressed.

Hi, I know that not everybody is willing to look at this this way, and I think I mentioned this to you before but your symptoms really scream at me.

I believe (and there is a growing scientific evidence) in the connection between body and mind. They are one really. When your mind suffers your body is suffering too and when your body suffers your mind suffers too. Chinese medicine is also taking this view. What you describe in chinese med is caused by an imbalace between yin and yang and liver heating and extra dampness in the body. This causes all sorts of problems and if untreated - will cause even more problems. So you really need to treat this. I would bet you also suffer from anxiety and also your eyes may be sore or you find it hard to focus. Other things can be moodiness and anger outbursts, urine infections and / or very little urine and constipation or constantly going to the toilet. You probably find lack of energy and maybe fast heart beats. (tell me what your experience of these).

In chinese medicine the whole body is being treated and your mind as well. The best is a combination of western counselling and eastern accupuncture and herbs. You need cooling herbs. That wouls sooth your liver and get rid of the sweats and moodiness. And balancing herbs. I would really urge you to visit a reliable chinese doc. your symptoms will get worse and the western med will only give you more chemicals that will have more side effects....

I wish you well xxxxxx
Thanks for this!

I get this often as well. It's horrible because I hate having to shower early in th emorning every day but when you wake up after a night full of sweating and stuff...your hair ain't looking so hot. Heh.

In my limited research on the area it is indeed a side effect to some depression medications and it can also be indicative of hypoglycemia (this is what I think is my problem because I also seem to get it more if I Have been having too much sugar so then it drops as I sleep and I go hypoglycemic).
