**Triggers?**
Have this problem. I go to bed, go to sleep then apparently I step into this other world where I cuss and swear, become violent and really tell people off; I don't remember doing any of this. My partner stays up most of the night to make sure I don't hurt myself. I've done this from being a child; it started when I was about 8 after I hit my head very hard in a gully then I got seizures and tinitus that never went away. I'd love to hear any ideas on what you think I should do about this because I've thought of going to a sleep clinic but the agoraphobia & anxiety & panic flare when I even think of it. Plus my partner sleeps until after 2pm because I've kept him up all night... Cheers, Rhia

Gee, Rhiannonsmoon, that sounds like a real toughy! Sounds like it definitely is related to when you hit your head as a kid. Would it be possible to see a regular doctor or neurologist? Sounds like you have some brain damage going on rather than a "simple" sleep disorder. I would go just talk to some doctors, not worry about a sleep study too soon.
Have you actually hurt yourself or someone else when you were sleeping? Do any medicines help at all? If you just toss and turn and cuss people out, I would maybe have your partner start with sleeping on the couch and move into the bedroom later in the morning if you get all right around then. I have a friend whose husband sleeps in another room because she's a windmill when sleeping. But I'd definitely talk to a doctor at least, see if anything can be learned from simple tests?

Thanks Perna,
There was some scar tissue (a lesion) on my brain when I went for an MRI for epilepsy diagnosis. They found the spikes but also this lesion which they said was old and slight. So maybe I need to talk to my new GP about this...Thanks so much Perna you've been really helpful, Cheers, Rhian
