When you're taking sleeping medicines they act to dull the internal and externel influences that would keep you awake without them. Now you taken on new responsibility and need to wake up at certain times, your dreams have to be more vivid - and sometimes more violent - to wake you up.
That is the main problem with all sleep medicines and many other psychedelic drugs, the sleeper gradually need more and more vivid dreams to wake him/her up.
Put your vivid dreams down to the extra responsibility you taken on.
Dreams do not have a special meaning. Your subconscious uses dreams to wake you up or move you about in sleep. So think of dreams as your helpers and guardians.
