I have had nightmares where I have been stabbed in the chest or hurt, and wake up, feeling pain in the area I had been injured within the dream. What could that mean? It's happened a few times now. It doesn't exactly scare me, but it does concern me.

Hi,
Ifyou feel pain in your dream, it is a response to some actual pain you're experiencing in your sleep. Could be caused by indigestion or a torn or pulled muscle in your chest. You should check it with your doctor. |

Checking with your doctor is a good idea. Another thing too, I saw in the EMDR videos that when a memory surfaces we feel it in a certain part of our body. Some feel the anxiety in the stomach, some in the chest. You may be dreaming about stuff that is painful to you and the last dream of being stabbed is getting you out of the other dream. Maybe? Just a thought.
I hope you get relief. ![]()
