I have been having a dream, more of a nightmare really, several times recently. It's a different place, with different people every time. But it's always about me getting chased and followed by someone who is trying to kill me. I can remember getting chased around everywhere, from my current apartment, to my family's farm. Throughout the whole dream, I'm always trying to get back to my place, so I can get some things and my two cats. These cats are like my kids, so I can see why I always go back for them. These dreams seem so real, that it puts me in a crappy mood for the day after. Also, I wake up in a sweat and scared as hell. Anyone know why I could be having these sort of dreams? It makes me very uncomfortable to be having dreams so violent and real-like.

Hi shortone,

how would you describe the one chasing you besides that he (she?) scares the hell out of you?

I find it interesting that this character is somehow the driving force in your dreams. S/he makes you move forward.

And I know from experience the power of dreams and how they can affect one's mood sometimes for days.

Hi,
In sleep we all simulate or actually make the movements the dream suggests. So, in sleep you have to move your legs. Mental activity in sleep is another little understood problem. Negative thoughts often intrude into sleep and need a dream to explain them away. Perhaps your angry outbursts and fear of their consequences caused your dream?
If you are concerned about your anger management, that could have caused yourdreams.
It is best not to take too much notice of your dreams. Dreams are concerned only with the sleep they occur in and should be forgotten or diregarded on waking!

Well it's always a male trying to kill me. I have a father in prison serving life for murder. I've always thought that's got to have some kind of connection to it. It's the only thing that makes sense. I've never really considered my anger to be the reason for the dreams, but it's very possible.
